Underfloor heating system with innovative sound insulation

New Schütz edge insulation strip for even better sound insulation and good room conditions / Quick and easy installation

Selters (hds). – No matter whether in a home or an office, in hotel rooms or guest rooms, in any building impact sound noises are a nuisance. The reason for the noisy vibrations is usually a faulty floor construction: slipping or falling building materials – such as mortar droppings – often penetrate the conventional edge insulation strips used for noise insulation. Noise bridges – and as a result unwanted loud vibrations – are the result. This installation fault is usually only discovered after the work has been completed, when the screed has dried! Then it is too late of course, and costly, time consuming rectification of the defects is required. It gets really expensive if an underfloor heating system was installed in the floor.

Comfortable conditions without impact sound

Schütz has spent many years working on developing the ideal structure for floor construction designs – in particular for high-quality underfloor heating systems. Professional sound insulation is naturally of key significance in this regard. To meet the new, increased demands of the market, the Westerwald experts now offer a new edge insulation strip. It ensures secure noise insulation and can be installed very quickly. The highlight: the strip consists of poly-ethylene foam and thanks to an integrated supporting layer sits straight as a die. The self-adhesive base is easily attached to the floor, the supporting material adapts itself to the wall without corrugations like a corset. Slipping of the strips or penetration by extraneous materials is practically impossible. The product has excellent properties in corners and is suitable as an edge finish for all screeds. Special solutions for corners and frame edges are now also offered. “Testing in practice has shown that the new insulation strips meet our quality standards in every respect. Our tradesmen customers are very satisfied with them”, said Norbert Potthoff, Schütz sales and marketing manager for the building technology division.
