Schütz Industry Services: An important innovations provider
Division presents itself at K 2007 at the highest technological level
Selters / Düsseldorf. Industry Services – this division of Schütz GmbH & Co. KGaA in Selters emphasises in a special way at the “K 2007” from 24th to 31st October in Düsseldorf (Hall 05, Stand 5 B 22), the significance of the synergetic combination of key competences not only for the company itself but also for its customers and markets and to what extent the trade fair motto “Living Responsible Care. Globally.” is actually put into practice at Schütz.
The Industry Services division summarises the whole technological know-how of research and development as well as machine tool construction, systems engineering and tool construction. Schütz plans, designs and manufactures nearly all production units, moulds and tools for the production of product offers onsite. This guarantees uniform quality standards all over the world. The independence of all divisions is therefore also guaranteed to be sustainable. The result is high flexibility and short downtimes for essential maintenance work or for an argumentum a contrario, assured high production and delivery as well as high productivity for customers.
The efficient tool and mould construction by Schütz is the basis for the production of market-orientated products. The latest technologies are used for this – from the integrated and CIM supported product development to the production which complies with the approved CATIA aviation and aerospace standard, extending to the optimised sub-geometry provided by simulation programs for blow-mould and filling techniques or 5-axial cutting technology in the large scale tool manufacturing division.
A number of patents have been registered for the provision of production systems, manufacturing procedures and the production of finished products in the Industry Services division. A wealth of know-how, which is in demand all over the world and is not simply implemented exclusively for ones own corporate needs. In the course of the contractual collaboration, licensees are offered know-how and technologies. For the production of plastic packaging systems they are provided with an extensive program. This ranges from complete system layouts to comprehensive engineering and mechanical engineering services to large-scale tool manufacturing or even ready-to-use production systems.
One of the most recent examples which shows that the concept of Responsible Care which has been established at Schütz based on the company’s own know-how, has often demonstrated its trendsetting character to customers and markets, is for instance the security layer technology which has been developed in Selters. This includes an extrusion blow-moulding process where up to six different function materials can be plastified at the same time. The relevant systems which are produced in-house and installed at many international Schütz sites are used in the meantime to produce drum and IBC variants which offer completely new application perspectives.
Another area of Industry Services is the Steel Service Centre at the site in Selters, a highly efficient competence centre for the processing and machining of flat-rolled steel types, which is sharing its wealth of know-how with the market that has evolved over the decades. Here, where all steel components of Schütz products are manufactured at its own site – namely elements for the production of steel drums, pallet feet, bottom plates and steel grids for the successful Ecobulk series – external customers can choose from an array of whole coils to cut to length plate bars and split strips.
Part of the Industry Services division includes the manufacturing of the so-called Cormaster honeycombs, a light-weight material for a multitude of applications in the aviation and aerospace industry, racing sport, car manufacturing or other high-tech applications. Again Schütz is able to use this range to demonstrate to visitors at the K 2007 trade fair how extensive experience, the mastery of technological know-how and innovative research and development services with a view to the trade fair motto, can be combined to produce mainstream products and processes.
The Industry Services division of Schütz presents itself to visitors at the trade fair in Düsseldorf as an important innovations provider with great manufacturing penetration and a know-how database at the highest level.
