SCHÜTZ IBC can be equipped with the EVOH barrier layer because of the development of the revolutionary Security Layer Technology by SCHÜTZ. EVOH is a copolymer of ethylene and ethenol and is successfully utilised in the chemical and food industries as well as for the transportation of pharmaceutical and cosmetic products.

On request Intermediate Bulk Containers (ECOBULK) and plastic drums (ECODRUM) from the SCHÜTZ product range can be equipped with the highly effective protective barrier to guard against permeation.

SMP treated plastic containers ensure complete safety during transport, economical storage and high resistance to solvents. In return, the environment benefits from the extremely low rates of permeation.

The superior mechanical properties of HDPE, including tensile strength, resistance to expansion, hardness, resistance to cracking as well as thermal properties and low-temperature behaviours are not affected by the SMP treatment.
