FAQs – Filling Products

Which filling products preclude SCHÜTZ IBCs from collection?

Generally speaking, all IBCs that have been filled with a CMR-category product will not be accepted for collection by the SCHÜTZ TICKET SERVICE.

Products excluded: e.g. filling goods causing cancer and/or belonging to the class R45/49 (for US purposes: Mutagenic Cat. 1, Carcinogenic Cat. 1; Canada and Mexico: Toxic 6.1, Marine Pollutants [UN / 49CFR 172.101 appendix B]) will not be collected, unless they have been neutralised or the IBCs washed out.

CMR – what does that stand for?

CMR substances are substances that can cause cancer, damage DNA or harm reproduction (carcinogenic, mutagenic, reprotoxic).

What are R and S rates?

R and S rates are “risk and safety rates”, ie, encoded warnings about hazardous goods among the elements and chemical compounds and also preparations produced from them. Along with the hazardous goods symbols, they constitute the most important elements of hazardous goods identification required by the EU. Appendix 1 to Directive 67/548/EU lists all hazardous goods subject to labelling requirements along with a mandatory classification for each substance listed. related links
