For the secure transport of steel tight-head drums: Schütz presents Drumfix at Scanpack

With the Schütz Drumfix load securing system, four empty or filled drums can be securely fixed on a pallet.
Under the banner ‘Containing everything that matters’, Schütz is presenting its comprehensive industrial packaging portfolio at Scanpack in Göteborg. With the Schütz Drumfix load securing system, the packaging expert has designed an advanced full solution for the safe transport of tight-head steel drums. The cost-effective, single-use system combines safety, economy and sustainability, thus ideally meeting the increasing demands of the industry. Made from recycled plastic and certified to EUMOS 40509, Drumfix is a sustainable and efficient solution for the global market.

With the Schütz Drumfix, users benefit from a reliable, simple, cost-effective and environmentally friendly system for securing load units of tight-head steel drums. Good packaging is crucial for ensuring that a product arrives at its destination in perfect condition and load securing systems add to this by ensuring that nothing tips over or slides during transport. Specially developed for the transport of tight-head steel drums, the Schütz Drumfix system can be used to create secure loading units from four drums and a pallet quickly, easily and sustainably. Using special screws, the Drumfix elements are attached to the pallet in just 20 seconds and firmly grip the bottom seam of the drums. Two additional straps at the top and bottom ensure that the drums are optimally secured both when full and empty. Even under extreme test conditions, such as inclinations of up to 45°, the Schütz Drumfix keeps the load unit completely stable. In addition, the load unit can be stacked as usual, making transport and handling in the filling plant easier.

Sustainability meets secure efficiency

To make customers' supply chains more sustainable and reduce their carbon footprint, Schütz has always championed recycling and reconditioning. This basic principle is also reflected in the Drumfix solution. The load securing system is made of reinforced plastic, which is obtained from recycled Schütz packaging. As well as reducing waste, the Schütz Drumfix also saves expensive packaging material because stretch film and reusable components such as straps and metal brackets are no longer required. The system can be assembled and dismantled quickly and is fully recyclable. The Drumfix elements can be returned via the Schütz Ticket Service and flow back into the material cycle.

The new system complies with all legal requirements and international standards for load securing, including the European standard EUMOS 40509, which specifies measures to prevent layers or entire load units from slipping, thus offering the shipper maximum safety. Transport companies benefit from increased safety and reduced liability in the event of inadequate load securing.

This solution will be on display from 22 to 25 October at Scanpack on the SCHÜTZ stand C01:22.
